Proud Partners of Generation Music
Philadelphia Cultural Fund
Established in 1991, PCF is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to enriching Philadelphia’s artistic and cultural landscape.
By providing general operating support to Philadelphia-based arts and culture organizations, we advocate for the value of the arts and their importance to the growth and future of our community.
The social, educational, and economic development of Philadelphia is tied to the vitality of arts and culture in our city. PCF recognizes and promotes the contributions and services of Philadelphia-based organizations, both emerging and established, across all ten districts.
Calvary St. Augustine Episcopal Church
Over the last two years, we have developed a residency with Calvary St. Augustine Church located in West Philadelphia. Bringing our workshops to their summer and after school programs, students have been able to learn from guest musicians and teaching artists, through hands-on instrument lessons, and performances.
Project 440
Project 440 engages, educates and inspires young musicians, providing them with the career and life skills they need to develop into tomorrow's civic-minded, entrepreneurial leaders. Through music, every young person is provided with the opportunity and tools for individual growth and community impact.
MUSICOPIA
Through a teaching roster of professional ensembles and solo musicians of the highest caliber, Musicopia helps Pre-K-12th grade students explore and develop their musical interests, learn to play an instrument, and perform alongside enthusiastic peers through in-school assemblies, workshops, and residencies, and long-term ensembles including the after-school Musicopia String Orchestras and Musicopia Drumlines.
Musicopia’s Gift of Music instrument donation program also collects, repairs and places donated musical instruments with those students who need them the most.
SCHOOL DISTRICT OF PHILADELPHIA
Our core values inform and shape the approach we take as an educational institution and serve as underlying themes for our communications. These core values should be seen as the promises we are making to our students, employees, and the greater Philadelphia community. Therefore, when communicating across any medium, we want to challenge ourselves to be continuously asking how we are reflecting and holding ourselves to the promises we make as an organization through our core values. All K-8 students experience arts-integrated instruction across subjects and in support of students reading at grade level, through a “Shared Delivery” collaboration between certified arts educators, certified non-arts educators, and community partner teaching artists.
PHILADELPHIA MUSIC ALLIANCE FOR YOUTH(PMAY)
The Philadelphia Music Alliance for Youth (PMAY) is a collaborative of organizations in the Philadelphia region dedicated to providing music education, performance and enrichment opportunities to youth. The collaborative started in 2012, and its members share a commitment to improving communities through the regular study of music. The PMAY Artists’ Initiative is a project that supports 5th-12th grade students from underrepresented communities and low-income households to pursue their dream of becoming a professional classical musician. The PMAY Artists’ Initiative offers young musicians financial support to make lessons, music classes, youth orchestra participation, and summer music camps affordable.
